Tokyo has its own blend of street art and urban culture. I’ve always loved graffiti and tagging, but Tokyo’s stands out to me as an explosion of creativity in an otherwise clean and uniform city. Graffiti and tagging in New York or Los Angeles is the product of class tensions and urban decay. I expect that Tokyo’s is motivated by something else, but it is vibrant nonetheless. The photos I post on this page are from various Flickr groups, available for use under the Creative Commons agreement. I am required to provide credits for each photo, and clicking them will bring you to the homepage of the owner. I suggest checking them out, there are many photos worth checking out! I’ll continue to post more. If you own any of these photos and would like them removed, please comment and I will do so.
